Le Five Mobile App

Scope: UI redesign of mobile app

Background

For the past 6 months I've played football with friends at Le Five in Paris. We all use their app to reserve our place but it’s many user experience issues are decreasing attendance to the matches.

The challenge

The confusing interface affected attendance so I challenged the information architecture and improved the user interface.

1. Empathize

Having used the app for a longtime I deeply empathized with the users, but I also recreated on Figma every one of the 8 screens of the reservation user path.

2. Define

Recreating the existing app revealed key insights about the design of the app and the following heuristics evaluation pinpointed with exactitud the design principles that were not being followed.

3. Ideate

I sketched ideas for a new user interface layout, drew new icons, and redesigned their logo.

Space

I streamlined the layout, prioritizing useful information and using space to enhance the experience of the user.

Identity

I improved logo clarity in digital applications by optimizing negative space within the pentagon.

Color

I established green as an accent color to highlight calls to action and important information.

Illustration

I created an illustration system, providing a timeless and versatile tool of brand storytelling.

Icons

I created a new set of icons with consistent stroke weights, scales and clear meanings with the aim of aiding the user to navigate the app effortlessly.

Key Learnings

• A bad user experience can deter people even from their favourite activity

• Beautiful design is not a useless expense, it’s good business

• The visual identity of your product is part of your user’s experience
